My Story
What is your motherhood story? I found out I was pregnant during a trip to Las Vegas. I was excited, nervous, anxious… but I was immediately focused on doing what I could for this little love that was coming into our lives. While my husband and I documented our pregnancy with bump shots (that let’s face it, were supposed to be evenly spaced but ended up sporadic!), I was lucky enough to have a maternity session with a fabulous photographer. I was welcomed into her studio and had access to gorgeous gowns. I was able to revel in this moment of womanhood and focus on this short time when it was just my baby and me. It was so special. I came home from that session and knew I wanted to specialize in maternity portraiture. My favorite sessions include natural light, a couple of gorgeous gowns, showing off the bump, and some laughter.
Your Experience
My goal for your maternity session is that you embrace your inner goddess, tell your story, and remember this moment in your life as one of beauty. To treasure the connection between mother & child and create images you can’t wait to share with loved ones.
Every maternity session begins with a consultation either by phone, text, or email. A phone call is the quickest way to get all of the questions answered and planning accomplished but I understand busy lives so whichever method works best just let me know. During the consultation we will discuss vision, outcomes, and goals for the session. This includes colors, styles, and gowns from my client closet, as well as overall theme. Do you want to feel like a woodland goddess with floral elements and water? Or maybe embrace your sensual side and show off your curves with a fine art feel? We will fine tune location, any indoor studio requests, date, and start time.
Once we have the session designed, dates and location decided; a contract is signed, and payment is made.
Arrival at your session means a wardrobe change and having some fun! I dive right in with jokes, stories, and prompts to make you feel comfortable, beautiful, and feminine. Snacks and water are provided during your 5-star experience - we are in the business of making memories.
After your session wraps up, during my editing process I go through images and apply the magic (see A Little Editing Magic or Basic Photo Editing for details). This part usually takes between 2-3 weeks depending on my schedule.
Once the final touches have been added, I will send you an email with instructions, your personal viewing and ordering slide deck, and a link to your watermarked gallery. You are free to make your selections over the course of 7 days. Once you have made your final decisions, you will send me an email. I confirm your selections and send the final payment over via link. Digitals are delivered within 24 hours of payment and printed products will be ready in 2-4 weeks. A quick text to arrange a pick-up time and you will be walking away with your gorgeous products and thank you gift all trimmed in a bow.
